It’s STEM Kids, Inc. offers a FREE preschool STEM program to disadvantaged African American and Latinx preschoolers ages 3 to 5 years old. The program would consist of two 30-minute Activity sessions based on Math and Science.
The sessions would be held at the Grand Prairie Memorial Library in Grand Prairie TX on Saturdays from 11am to 12pm starting Saturday June 12, 2021 through Saturday, August 7, 2021. Each child would participate in one 30 minute session on one Saturday and then the other session the following Saturday.
I would like the parents to stay during the sessions because the more involved the parent is the more the child will get out of the session.
A MESSAGE FROM THE FOUNDER & EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
My name is Monica Underwood. I am an African American Mother of a 13 year old son. I started this nonprofit organization because I want to see more children of color, especially African American and Latino children develop an interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). My program focuses on preschool children because we need to develop their interests in STEM early so by the time they get to elementary school, they already have some knowledge of STEM and hopefully go on to develop an interest and we will start to see more African American and Latino Scientists, Technologists, Engineers, and Mathematicians.
Saturday STEM programs for preschoolers age 3 to 5. Free to African American and Latinx children in the Grand Prairie / East Arlington Texas area.
